Benitsas

Benitsas
(Travel Time from Airport 30 mins)

Benitsas is a short drive south from Corfu town on the main coastal road towards the Southern tip of the island.
The beach at Benitsas is made up of shingle and pebble with the odd rocky outcrop just passed the shore line, so a little care would be needed when entering or exiting the crystal waters.
Water sports are available like pedalos, canoes and a little way down towards Messonghi you can hire jet skies and motor boats, you can also hire sunbeds and umbrellas if you’re just planning to top up the tan.
Benitsas has a good selection of mini-supermarkets, gift shops there is also a couple of "Internet Cafes" which can be used for a small charge also you will be
able to make International cheap rate phone calls from there so you will be able to keep in touch with people back home.
Benitsas also has a very good selection of resturants, tavernas and a Chinese restaurant located in the back streets.
For the more energetic there is a well marked walk through the old town of Benitsas up into the hills following the stream to the old "Pump House"
built by the British in the later part of the nineteenth century to supply water to Corfu Town,
It's well worth the effort to see the wildlife and to get away from
the hustle and bustle of tourist life, a word of caution take a bottle or two of water and maybe a picnic as there is no shops up there.
Over the last year or so there has been a lot of work going on to Benitsas marina which is now coming to an end, the marina has made a big difference to
Benitsas turning it from a fishing village to more of a cosmopolitan feel to the resort but still retaining it's Greek beauty.
