Hi, me and a friend are thinking about booking sidari on may 21st. I've been once before with an ex, but we didnt do much (apart from argue as ya do :) ), so i have a few questions which hopefully some kind person will try answer...
Has anyone heard of sellas hotel (i may have the name slightly wrong)...we've found a really good deal with thomas cook, and from the reviews it doesnt look that bad. Not really gonna spend much time there so its not too important.
Is there many cockroaches? (big phobia!)
How much would people recommend to take for a week? We will be eating out each night, also having a few cheeky drinks each night. Maybe a few trips eg aqualand, boat trips, also watersports.
I've had a look at the weather for may and it doesnt look too good, is it really as bad as it sounds?
A lot of other reviews I found were very positive towards the Sellas so it looks like you have chosen well.
As for the ""cockroaches"" I would be VERY surprised if you saw a cockroach in the Sellas Hotel because they tent to go on holiday late October    to be serious, cockroaches in corfu Yes chances of seeing one Very Very slim !
The weather for late May you can expect it to be sunny with temperature around 22°C with 8-10 hours of sunshine, now that sure beats the UK weather, with that said you could get the odd shower, also you may need a light jacket or Cardy for the evening.
Hi Al! Thanks for your reply! It was a great help! I have one more question  How much would you recommend we take for a week...we'd like to eat out each night, and have a few drinks..also we'd like to take a few trips while we're over there...eg aqualand..horse ride...bbq boat trip.
Any help would be very much appreciated by the flappers
Depending on what your likings are, food prices can vary, from as little as a few Euros person. On average, I would say around €10 - €15 for a two course meal consisting of a starter and a good main course. This is what we would pay, but like I said you can find cheaper options, in particular of the menu boards. Most of those with experience of Corfu, would recommend eating where the Corfiots eat themselves, which is what we do when visiting Corfu. Greeks do not like paying too much, for what is rightly theirs, food. The menus might be shorter, but the prices are far cheaper, but what you get is beautiful cooked, and delicious authentic food. If you like a breakfast, they can range around the €5 mark, and set you up for the day if on an excursion.
Again, drinks can vary from Bar to Bar, Taverna to Taverna, but on average, Beer (Mythos) around €2 - €3, Spirits at €3 - €4 (Go for local brands you will find them cheaper), Wine, again a €2 - €3 per glass, or €8 - €10 bottle of house wine, rising in the choose of better wines.
We usually take around £600 per person for a two week holiday. This normally covers everything in the way of food, drink, excursions etc. We also take our Visa card just in case we want more.
For excursions, take a look at these links CORFU EXCURSIONS AND TRIPS and CORFU EXCURSIONS AND TRIPS for a list of varous excursions and tours. This is not a full list, as some local trips can also be obtained at a local source. When booking, you will get a better dear if you visit your local resort Travel Shop. A lot cheaper than from other sources. For list of approximate prices, follow this link, CORFU EXCURSIONS PRICES
I hope this gives you some idea of costs and prices. Most are based on last years prices, and we have to wait until the start of the season to get a view of what is expected, but be assured, things do not change too much. If you have any further questions do let us know.
Thank you for getting back to me chris! Thats all my questions answered...all i need to do now is to start saving up and look forward to a week in sidari
And as you will be one of the first to visit Corfu this year (May) we look forward to reading your review of your stay, etc, and any photographs that may enhance our Photo Gallery on the forum. As I said, if you find any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Glad to be of help.
