Messonghi

The former fishing village of Messonghi is around 21km (14 miles approx) from the airport and is located on the south east coast of Corfu.
Messonghi beach is well away from the traffic of the main road (not that there is a lot), the beach is sand and shingle,
and for a few euros you can hire sun beds and umbrella’s there is also a good selection of water sports on offer.
The water is crystal clear and safe for children as it slopes very gently out to sea.
Messonghi has a very good selection of Tavernas / restaurants, supermarkets, Gift shops, Bakery, bars, hairdresser & and a Travel agency called “Pandora Travel” Ideal for arranging day trips all over the Island as well as car hire & accommodation.
Holidays in Messonghi appeal to a cosmopolitan mix of young families and couples all looking for a relaxed holiday with a great friendly atmosphere.
Messonghi River is a great place to arrange a boat trip to all attractions around Corfu.
A holiday in Messonghi is very relaxing but if you’re after a slightly faster pace then you can also count on the attractions of Moraitika across the river, as the two resorts are tending to merge into one.
Moraitika is only a short walk from Messonghi approx 10 to 15 mins and it is on the flat or you can get the river taxi
form Messonghi river to Moraitika and it will only cost you a couple of euros each way.
I know the “River Taxi” sounds posh…. it’s a guy with a row boat really.
