Welcome to the Holiday Corfu chat forums for Moraitika
Holiday Corfu is a new style of web site where all recommendations come from the visitors of Corfu NOT advertisers!
Our intention is to build an ever growing source of information for the Island of Corfu.
Holiday Corfu is not a commercial site, but has been put together as a hobby by myself and done purely to pass on information about this beautiful Island.
You can Ask or Answer questions that have been posted by users seeking information.
or you can you recommend where to stay? Which Resturants/Tavernas did you visit for eating out?
Where did you find the Best Beaches? What are your Best Travel Tips?
What Greek Food can you recommend?
If you have just returned from Corfu or Greece why not add your Travel tips to our message boards.
Regulars to Corfu are always dreaming about Corfu and their next visit!

Holiday Corfu is also a place for you to keep in touch with friends you have met on holiday.
We would love to hear your stories about your holiday in Corfu.

Hi Gail+Joe

My favourite restaurants in Moraitika are as follows, The Rose Garden, The Village Taverna and another which is on the outskirts and a short taxi ride away is the 75 Steps

The Rose Garden
You can find the Rose Garden on the right hand side heading for messonghi, it's located between two take away food shops down a little ally don't let that put you off as when there it is so picturesque, if you had younger children with you it also it has it's own park for the children and safe too as it is away from the main road.

The Village Taverna
Located at the end of Moraitika, if you were heading towards Benitsas you will see a co-op supermarket just after there there is a left hand turn up into the old village, its a very nice walk but hilly!! there is a few gift shops and a small church that you pass on the way up to the village taverna, then you will find this little gem of a taverna all covered in flowers tucked away in the back streets of the old village.

75 Steps
I know you said moraitika but I thought I would through this one in for good measure, the 75 steps is located just outside of moraitika & messonghi in a small village called Spileo, the taverna is up on the hillside looking over messonghi/moraitika, if you do decide to visit this taverna that I would say its best to get there before sunset as the views of the setting sun are fantastic.

In all the tavernas the food is very good, these are where we enjoy eating.
I have a few photos I will try and find and add them to the post or Gallery so you can see them.

hope it helps

Regards
