Hi Sunfun.

Food prices across the island vary one exactly where you go. And of course with the recession, some are finding the odd Euro being added on here and there, which is expected, and probably across the board in the holiday destinations. On average, Beers, such as Mythos will cost between €2 and €3.50, Wine about the same per glass, but cheaper by the half karaf, or full bottle, €6 to €12 depending on what wine you have. Meals, with drinks, average around the €25 to €30 per couple for two courses. Can be cheaper if you choose from the set menus.

Personally we eat where the Corfiots like to eat. It is far cheaper, much cheaper. The menu might be shorter, but what you have is really good, and worth every penny. Plus they enjoy your company, and this is what going to Greece and Corfu is all about.

Being based in Arillas, you have the added advantage of having Agios Stefanos to the North, and Agios Geogios to the South, both within a few km of Arillas. So your choice of eateries are extended. You can also take the planned walks in this area which leads you through villages that in the main retain their originality. For more details on what is in these resorts, and what is available please look at each Resort Section, and then click on the Links pages to those resorts.

If there is anything else you wish to know, do please get back to us with your questions.

Just back from Arillas where we noticed prices had risen a bit since our last visit 2 years ago. Cocktails and spirits around 4 euros although some places do a "happy hour" when prices are a bit lower.
On average we paid around 30 euros for a meal for 2 (incl wine). "Special" meals are around the 8 euros mark, but obviously varies from place to place and some include 2 courses, some 3. Over the course of the 2 weeks we reckoned on spending 25% more than we did 2 years ago for a similar sort of holiday.

Hi Crystal. Thanks for the update on the prices from your recent visit to Corfu. I think we can expect more rises in the weeks and months to come now that the huge loan has been granted and approved, and actions have been announced to ensure its pay back. If you have anymore info please do let us know.
