Hi Alison.

The owners must take a great pride in how they look after their guests.

Have a great time and like Chris said lets know how your holiday went.

ZARIFRIS

Post by Chris » Tue May 15, 2007 8:44 pm

Hi Alison.

Thats one thing that no one can disagree with. The way the Corfiots will go out of their way to help you and everyone. I can remember you telling us on previous sites, very moving.

Wherever one goes on Corfu, whether it is Sidari, or North, East, South or West, we are greeted with the same attitudes.

We love them.

Hi Alison,

I notice you were asking on another Corfu site about nut allergy written in Greek..I posted this in the Kassiopi forum on this site a few months ago..I hope it will be of some use to you.

This website may be of some help to those who have a allergy to nuts, you can download a card that is written in Greek and English stating that you are allergic to nuts which you can then hand to a restaurant or whoever prepares your food,

Under Food and Drink you'll see... "How do I tell the waiter I have a nut allergy?"

Time will fly by Alison, and the next four weeks will be gone, and you and your family will be on your way again. Do have a great time, and we look forward to hearing all about on your return.

Hi Alison.

Nice to hear of your booking. What month will you be going next year. We have started to look, and have a few ideas up our sleeves. Either to stay where we normally stay, or try somewhere else. However, it is all down to the doctor, which if I can continue as I am, will be given the OK.

Do let us know when you are off Alison.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention Jim. You will appreciate that unless one is fluent in Greek, which undoubtedly you are, we would take the line from the "Friends of the Ionian" website as a true reading. However, we are always pleased when something is recognised as not quite true information. I have therefore contacted the FOI website to explain this matter, and asked for an update to be put in place. In my opinion this is a very important issue to many. Thank you again.

Thank you Kostas for the explanation of your name, and an insight into your family background, although sad to hear of your mothers passing. I to have lost both my parents.

I will let you know if I receive anything from "The Friends of the Earth", as to whether they change anything. Another idea would be, if I could be so presumptuous in asking, would it be possible for you to translate the same phrase, but substituting the words to include nuts in general.

We look forward to hearing more of your stories with regards to Corfu in due course.

Thanks for that Alison. I think this is the case, those in the trade of catering etc will probably understand what is trying to put across, although to some it reads different.

In your own time of course Kostas. What we have at the moment will no doubt suffice until such times it can be updated or corrected.

That is some travelling to do Kostas. May I ask what business you are in.

One hectic life Kostas, but as you say, if one wants things in life then sometimes it has to be done. Gladly in a way, I do not have to do that now. Not retired I hasten to add, but just taking things easy so to speak. Time for a rest I said to myself. I keep busy though.

Anyway, not wishing to digress away to much from the thread. As I said when you have time in your hectic schedule, it would be appreciated if you can help on this matter. I have still not heard from the FOI. Not friendly is it.

Hi Nev

The weather don't look to good as you say but with Corfu most showers pass quickly as for Friday it looks as if it will be brightening up so I'm sure you will have a great time.

Wishing you a great holiday

Steady on girl, you have had enough near misses in the past, nearly missing your holidays. Do not frighten us like that. If you have to be ill, be ill out there,   , at least you will be in Corfu.

Glad to hear it is not bad anyway, and your still on track for the off.

Just over 24 hours to go Alison, and the big off again. Here is wishing you have a great trip, and a fantastic holiday in Sidari. You certainly deserve it. Look forward to hearing your reviews, views and seeing your pictures on your return. Have fun in the sun Alison and Family.
