Mince Pies warning
Just a reminder to always check the sell by date BEFORE you buy the six packs of mince pies, otherwise you may have to eat a whole six pack to conform with health regulations, yum :dup:
Oh yes Tesco 'bake it yourself Christmas cake £5 special' you will need a 8inch cake tin THEY DONT TELL YOU THAT WHEN YOU BUY IT. doh  .

Re: Mince Pies warning
so many sell by dates are totally unnecessaru- pure bureaucracy! Honey for example, found in a Mycenean tomb in Greece, 2000 years old, still OK to eat, but the jars in the supermarkets have to have a date......mincemeat lasts for years, maybe quality goes off after a year or two, but enjoy those pies, it is a shame to waste them for four days!

Re: Mince Pies warning
We buy Minced Pies, and have kept them in containers for ages, and have not even considered the sell by, eat by, or any other regulatory factors involved with Minced Pies. The box has been discarded, so not reminded in the first place. And of course they are delicious, and remember, everything is already cooked.
Susie, one Mince Pie, regardless of age, will not hurt the waste line. Enjoy.

Elaine is going to make a form of Mince Pie, but with Puff Pastry full of butter, in the form of Whirls. Roll out the Puff Pastry. Spread with Minced Fruit Mix which she has made already (Very Boozy), and then roll each long edge into centre. Cut into slices and bake on a tray.
They are thinner Susie, if it helps. :dup: :dup: :dup:
