Re: Photo Editing Software
Hi Al.
Many of the Photoshop brands are very good, but I use the Magix Series which does all you need plus more. Then again for basic photo fixing I tend to use the Windows Photo Gallery facilities, which comes with Vista.

I use Adobe Photoshop Elelements. It will do all you want and more. It's a cut down version of Adobe Photoshop Pro that can be used for doing anything you can think of with a photo.
Even with Elements you can add an image to an existing photo by cutting a silhouette from one photo and inserting it into an existing photo (this is useful when you want to include someone in a group photo whowas unable to attend the photographic session).
I was given Magix as a present but never liked it. It was supposed to be a Video Editor but I could never get it to work. I prefer Photodex Producer which can also be used to edit still Photos.

Re: Photo Editing Software
Hi Al.
Roger has already mentioned another option, but that one can be quite expensive. I used it for a few years, but it became to expensive to keep it up to date. The Adobe one is good.
Magix 8 Photo Manager. Take a look at the link and see for yourself. They are easy to use, and still use them when I am doing special work, but as I said for immediate work, I use the Windows Photo Gallery.
MAGIX 8 PHOTO MANAGER
This is a Free Download I think, for trial at least.
