Hi
We obtained a building permit to build a villa in Feb/March 2009. We understand it lasts for 4 years and after that it can be 'easily' extended for another 4.
With the current exchange rate it looks like our build will be on hold for at least the next year.
Does anyone have any experience of obtaining an extension? Is the process straightforward, or are there any potential pitfalls to be aware of?

you can renew and extend a licence. Depending on who your architect is depends on how straightforward it is !
Regarding your build, you might want to look at alternative ways of building your house. There are various eco systems that make building a lot cheaper than traditional methods. The quality is better and with no damp problems. You can message me here for details of there.
