Basil's Bar anyone???

Hi all

Let me start by saying "HI", just joined the forum.

Can anyone remember a little place called Basil's Bar. It was situated between the main road and the beach and when we last visited 16 years ago, we were in there every night.
A lovely couple ran it, so much so that we used to sit at night having a drink and a laugh with the owner while his wife took our daughter for a walk along the beach in her push chair.
It even got to the stage where one night he was so busy I ended up helping him behind the bar :-)

is it still there?

The name rings a bell,,, I think it used to be near "Kavouria" (Crabs) taverna/bar, but I can't be 100%
sure if it is still there.
I will try to get some more information for you if possible.

Hi, Basils bar has been closed for quite a few years now. Lynne the owners wife works in Crabs in the summer.
If you want me to pass a message to her, I see her most days, as she walks past the office a lot in winter. Linda.

Sad that it has closed but deep down I kind of thought that after so many years, shame.
Please tell Lynn and family I was asking after them and hope that they are all well.

Hopefully the wife and I can visit again soon now that the kids have all grown up :grin:

I remember basils bar, down a lane in some treees middle of knowhere :-)
I was once in there with a British guy that was driving a london taxi around the world or something.
